Q: What is the difference between 1-on-1 and Semi-Private classes?

A: 1-on-1 Classes: Our 1-on-1 classes are fully customized based on your Chinese level, learning goals, and the skills you want to improve. During class, all speaking practice and daily conversation simulations are done directly with the teacher, allowing you to receive full attention.

Semi-Private Classes (2–3 Students): Designed based on the levels and goals of the group. Students primarily practice with each other through conversations, while the teacher provides corrections and guidance.

Q: How long does it take for a complete beginner to learn Chinese?

A: For complete beginners, the time needed depends on the level of proficiency you want to reach. To achieve basic conversational Chinese (HSK 3 level), with regular attendance and 2–3 lessons per week:

3–6 months: able to handle simple daily conversations
6–10 months: able to communicate more comfortably in everyday life.

Progress may vary depending on study pace and practice outside class.

Q: I already have some Chinese foundation and want to take a pinyin course. How long will it take to speak fluent Chinese?

A: Improving pronunciation usually takes less time than learning from scratch. Most students can noticeably improve their pinyin pronunciation and tones within 4–8 weeks. However, speaking fluent Chinese also depends on vocabulary and grammar. With regular lessons, many students find their overall spoken Chinese becomes much clearer and more natural within 2–3 months.

Q: Which platform do we use for the lessons?

A: We primarily use Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, depending on which is more convenient for you. If we are using Google Meet, a meeting link will be sent to you via email before each session. No complex setup is required—you can join the class directly through your web browser or the app with just one click.

Q: Can I take 1-on-1 classes if English is not my native language?

A: Absolutely. As long as you have a basic understanding of English, you are welcome to join our classes. Our teachers use both English and Chinese during lessons. For more complex grammar points, we may also use translation tools to help you understand the material more clearly.

Q:  How long is each lesson? How are class times arranged?

A: Each lesson usually lasts 60 minutes. Class times are arranged based on both the student’s and the teacher’s availability. You can discuss your schedule with the teacher, and we will arrange a suitable class time for you.

Q: What do I need to prepare before class?

A: You only need a stable internet connection, a computer or tablet, and a quiet learning environment.

Q: If I have already learned some Chinese on another platform or app, can I still take classes with you? Do I need to start from the beginning?

A: Of course. Before the first class, we will arrange a Chinese level assessment to understand your current level. Based on the results and your learning goals, we will design a suitable course plan for you.

If you would like to review what you have learned before, we can also include review lessons before moving on to new material. The teacher will provide learning materials and send you review notes and exercises after class to help reinforce what you have learned.

Q:Can I have a trial lesson?

A: Yes. We offer a 15-minute free trial lesson so you can experience the class before enrolling.

During the trial lesson, you will meet the teacher, learn about the teaching style, and the teacher will briefly understand your Chinese level and learning goals in order to create a suitable learning plan for you.

Q: How many lessons per week are recommended?

A: Most students choose 2–3 lessons per week, which helps maintain consistent progress while still allowing time for review and practice.

However, you can also choose one lesson per week or more, depending on your schedule and learning goals.

Q: Are class times fixed or flexible?

A: Once your class time is confirmed, that time slot will be reserved for you as your regular weekly class time.

Since classes are scheduled for students in different countries and time zones, class times are generally not changed frequently. If you need to adjust your class time, please contact the teacher in advance.

Q: Is learning Chinese difficult?

A: Learning Chinese may feel challenging at the beginning, especially when it comes to pronunciation and tones. However, with regular practice, most students gradually become more comfortable.

With systematic learning and consistent practice, you will become more confident in using Chinese over time.
